Co Creative Psychotheraphy
The Co-Creative Psychotherapeutic approach in the practice is based on a potentiality model of human behaviour and its goals are to offer opportunities for individuals to deepen their sense of self and from that interior stronghold create more Conscious Relationships with Self and others. It is a Co-Creational approach in that it capitalises on the Creativity of both the Psychotherapist and the Client.
At its core our approach has an appreciation of the individuality of the person seeking help, a recognition of the person’s power beyond measure, an Affirmation of the Sacredness and Unconditional Worth of the Person and an Awe response to the Intelligent and Creative ways that Individuals Protect themselves in the face of adverse experiences when a child and, currently, as an adult. We seek to understand the substitute/protective behaviours presented and Create the Relational Safety for the person to bring to Consciousness what lies hidden – one’s true Self.

The orientation is primarily non-directive – in that it relies on the relationship between the Co-Creational Psychotherapist and the client to bring about the desired security and safety for the client to understand consciously what they already unconsciously knows. When the person makes the connection between how he/she relates to others is a mirror of how they relate to self, possibilities for new choices and new actions emerge.
Relationship mentoring helps the person to pay heed to his personal behavioural issues and taking up self-responsibility of effectively responding to it. This makes the person socially and emotionally more mature as an individual.
A mentor creates a safe and secure environment for the relationship to survive and thrive helping the person to realize their fears and unmet needs. It helps in developing defensive strategies in the minds of the people to help them make more conscious decisions through awareness and understanding.
Such defensive strategies enable a person to recognise their fears and threats immediately and to address them by bringing change. Conscious awareness helps a person to become more open and mature towards himself/herself and others.
